Coronavirus/COVID-19

March 17, 2020

Dear Residents,

With the recent news regarding the outbreak of Coronavirus 2019, we are all concerned about the effects that this virus may have on each and every one of us. It is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person and was first identified during an outbreak in Wuhan, China. We want to do whatever we can to prevent this disease from spreading among our employees, residents and friends.

You should have already received the attached Resident notice and accompanying EPA List of Registered Disinfectants. They are provided here in PDF format for you to read or review again if you want. It is important that we all work together for the safety and benefit of us all.

Thank you for being our Resident,

Management and Owner

Freeze Warning Tips for Residents

When temperatures are forecast to be below 32 F, water pipes can freeze, burst, and cause a great deal of damage. Help protect your apartment home by taking these steps during a freeze:

  • Let your faucets drip! Run both hot and cold water in a very fine stream in each of your apartment’s faucets: kitchen sink, bathroom sinks, bath tubs, showers, etc.
  • Open your cupboards! Leave the cabinet doors under all sinks open so that the pipes will be ventilated with warm air. Leaving the bathroom and kitchen doors open helps too.
  • Heat your home! If you leave for the day (or an extended period of time) do not turn the heat completely off. Turn it on, set to the lowest setting you wish (60° is recommended).
  • Be alert! If you see anything unusual – for example if your water does not come on, or if you see water leaking anywhere in or around your apartment building, notify the rent office and the maintenance team immediately!

New Website Update

Development of the new KennedyPlace.com website is going well. There’s always more to do than meet the eye in the early stages, but that’s to be expected. And when things fall into place, it’s very rewarding.

The new layout is blocked out, some major graphics are done, page templates are done, and several new pages have been built with lots of filler text, sometimes called dummy text, known as Lorem Ipsum. You can look it up if you want. There’s an extensive Wikipedia page on Lorem Ipsum, as Wikipedia tends to do, and there is even a “Lipsum generator” to fill your own draft pages with if you want.

The bottom line here is, the new website is going to be great. All the better to represent the Kennedy Place community of nice, comfortable townhomes, duplex homes, and apartment homes. You’ll like what you see in the new website and our rental homes.

The next blog post will be at Launch. We have yet to choose a new host and are comparing several hosts feature by feature. When that happens, the site will be moved there and checked out before Launch. Then when all is well, it will go Live. Ten years plus in the making and worth every bit of effort.

New Kennedy Place Website in Development

We are happy to announce that the third version of KennedyPlace.com is in the early stages of development. After 10 years in version two, and two years in version one, version three is starting to take shape.

This new version will be completely different, from the code base to the ordering of directories, to the number of pages and the subjects they represent. No more .shtml pages, and no more .php pages. We’re moving from a basic HTML structure of tables to a fully responsive HTML5 structure on WordPress.

There is a lot of work to do, and there are a lot of decisions to be made, so please check back here again to see how it’s going. We’ll post updates in this column.

Meanwhile, if you need an apartment to rent, or a townhouse to rent, or a nice duplex home to rent here in Edmond, please give us a call at [contentblock id=phone-link] and find out what’s available for you. New website or not, we still have the best selection of floor plans in Edmond.
